Strategic Planning Workshop December 2-4, 2015

To signify the contribution of IDIF on the improvement of national nutrition profiles, better strategic planning is needed as a guide for the new management of IDIF. Such planning has to be sensitive to the prevailing needs within the nation, but also feasible within the limit of strengths of IDIF as a foundation. It calls 'strategic' because the plan shall also provide as the blueprint to systematically staging the works of IDIF to reach its optimum capacity in the field of nutrition.

What had been elaborated in the strategic plan is the result of an intensive three-day workshop with the management organ, resource persons, and scientific committees of IDIF. The frame of strategic plan for FY 2016 - 2020 is summarized with the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure in stages. 'In stages' means that some of the KPIs may not be reachable in the first few years, but rather as accumulated outcomes of a long process after the strengthening of the internal management system within the organization. With the new initiative on program alignment, an immediate strong management back-up is required with respect to human- and financial resources. The last but not least is the socialization of newly-formulated IDIF's shared values (HOPES: Humanity, Openness, Proximity, Ethical, and Scientific Integrity) as the essential principles to follow by the members of IDIF and research grant's applicants in the course of conducting any of the IDIF's activities.
